NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), USAW L1, Precision Nutrition Coach Level 1, MS Human Performance, Crossfit Level 1,
I discovered athletics at the age of 11 where I began my near decade long journey as an Olympic Taekwondo athlete. During my time as a competitor, I was able to make the US Junior National Team and Puerto Rican National Team representing myself and my country at countless events, including World Championships and the Pan American Games. As my career came to an end, I knew I had a love of coaching, and discovered the world of fitness professionals. I began my career as a personal trainer during my undergraduate college years and continued to develop as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Florida where I received my MS in Human Performance. Throughout this time I have been able to step into various roles as a fitness professional and have been able to help hundreds of people build confidence in themselves and their capabilities both on and off the gym floor.
My Olympic dream abruptly ended in 2016 and forced me to take a look at where my identity was rooted. Up until that point, I had been solely focused on myself, my career, my athletics. When I was forced to take a step back and look past myself, I realized the grit, discipline, and lessons I learned during my career could be vital stepping stones for others to learn from and help them realize their full potential. The transition to a coach felt like I was finally stepping into a place I was meant to be in.
I truly believe people are far more capable than they will ever give themselves credit for, but you need someone to pull that out of you. Every athlete needs a coach, but specifically a coach that cares deeply about the person in front of them. I pride myself on developing relationships with the athletes I work with and want them to know if it’s important to you, it’s now important to us as a team.
