Heavy Metal Barbell is the largest and most successful USAW Club in North Carolina that operates both brick and mortar and remote training programs for athletes of all abilities. We assist athletes of all ages meet personal or competitive weightlifting goals by fostering a team first environment.

Position Overview:
The Weightlifting Coach will lead coaching sessions four days a week, provide support and guidance on meet days, and build meaningful relationships with athletes. This role also includes introductory consultations and onboarding new athletes through personal training to ensure they have a smooth transition into our program. Ongoing retention work and relationship management is also a critical component of the role to our team's business strategy. While you report to the Weightlifting Director, this role will fulfill key leadership responsibilities within our program and is expected to progress into a full time position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead in-gym weightlifting coaching sessions 4 days per week
- Provide meet day coaching (2 Local Events and 3 National Events minimum)
- Travel Expenses covered by company
- Develop and maintain positive, supportive relationships with athletes
- Onboard new athletes, including assessments, goal setting, and program integration
- Perform periodic goals meetings with athletes regarding training, progress, and feedback
- Represent Charlotte Strength/Heavy Metal Barbell Club values and standards inside and outside the gym
- Annual Plan and Program Design for 1-2 Team Programming Tracks
- Collaborate with leadership to continuously improve programming and athlete experience
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience as a weightlifting coach (USA Weightlifting L1 or Higher Required)
- Strong technical knowledge of Olympic lifts, progressions, and competition standards
- CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Self-driven and team-oriented, with the ability to lead and inspire athletes and coaches.
- Experience working with a variety of clients, from beginners to competitive athletes.
- Completion of Charlotte Strength’s Onboarding Path and Coach Shadowing Program.
- Adherence to Charlotte Employee Handbook
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for the sport and dedication to athlete success

Compensation & Hours:
- Base Pay: $43,680 Base Salary + up 10% Performance Bonus
- Hours: 28 hours/week
- Employment: Part-Time W2 Employee
